Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
R.O.B. can control midrange and long range well with Gyro and aerials, but if you can interrupt Gyro re-acquisition, Bowser Jr. can regain control through Clown Kart and Mechakoopa.
Clown Kart is easier to read if you swing it by itself, so the cleaner route is to send it through setup cover, launch R.O.B., and keep landing traps going with up air and up smash.
For KOs, it is more stable to watch ledge jump and neutral get-up first and collect the landing rather than overchasing offstage.

Win Condition Checklist
- Avoid straight-on projectile exchanges with no setup, and stop both Gyro pickup and forward movement at once.
- After blocking one of R.O.B.’s big swings, answer decisively with forward air or up smash and send him back to the ledge.
- At the ledge, watch roll-in and neutral get-up before trying to edgeguard, and prioritize landing traps instead.
Actions to Avoid
- Trying to send out Clown Kart head-on while Gyro is still available.
- Repeating the same-height, same-distance Clown Kart swings after he has already seen them.
- Going offstage and getting dragged into R.O.B.’s strong recovery.
