Mythra should not try to chase Squirtle head-on; the stable plan is to use her longer grounded range to stop Squirtle from freely slipping in and to claim the first clean hit.
Squirtle is small and fast, so careless short-range placement can get whiffed and immediately lose tempo.
But Squirtle is also light, and mistakes on Jab 1, Jab 2, Jab 3, Down Tilt, Dash Attack, Forward Smash, Up Smash, Down Smash, and Side B can be taken back with Up Smash (9f), Grab (10f), Up B (10f), or OOS Fair (11f).
Squirtle’s Neutral Air, Forward Air, and Up Air are harder to punish immediately, so Mythra should close the route to the landing spot or escape path instead of forcing a swing.

- Do not let Squirtle slip under short-range zoning; use longer grounded buttons and dash stops to claim space first.
- After blocking Jab 1, Jab 2, Jab 3, Down Tilt, Dash Attack, Forward Smash, Up Smash, Down Smash, or Side B, answer immediately with Up Smash (9f), Grab (10f), Up B (10f), or OOS Fair (11f) when it reaches.
- Do not chase Neutral Air, Forward Air, or Up Air with a greedy swing; take the landing route and escape route first.
- Push Squirtle toward the ledge before it can keep resetting neutral, then cash out the stock with landing pressure.
Actions to Avoid
- Throwing out short-range buttons carelessly and letting Squirtle’s low profile make them whiff.
- Blocking Jab 1, Jab 2, Jab 3, Down Tilt, Dash Attack, Forward Smash, Up Smash, Down Smash, or Side B without answering back and giving Squirtle another reset.
- Overcommitting to chase Neutral Air, Forward Air, or Up Air and getting whiff-punished on the way back.
