Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
Mega Man’s forward air and down air are safe, and even his normals lean projectile-like, but his unsafe options like jab, tilts, dash attack, and smash attacks have large punish windows, so R.O.B. can stay patient and then reclaim the turn in one burst.
Placing Gyro to disrupt pellet and Metal Blade rhythms, then showing Robo Beam to force a jump before layering forward air and up air, lets you avoid the straight projectile battle.
For kills, it is more consistent to chase his landing from above with up air and convert into up smash or back air than to overextend deep offstage.

Win Condition Checklist
- Prioritize Gyro recovery and re-placement over trying to force a hit; place it where it stops Mega Man’s standing fire.
- After blocking jab, tilts, dash attack, or smash attacks, answer with grab or up-air starter, then keep chasing until he lands again.
- Against safe forward air and down air, do not force shield punishes; instead, cut off the landing spot and the movement after landing first.
Actions to Avoid
- Getting frustrated by pellets and jumping high into his anti-air back air and up tilt.
- Throwing Gyro carelessly forward and putting yourself behind in the pickup race.
- Overchasing offstage, losing your recovery timing, and giving away your center-stage lead.
