Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
Samus controls the lane with Charge Shot, Missiles, and Bombs, and she also has Forward Air plus a 4f Up B to swat away approaches, so careless high jumps or close-range pressure from R.O.B. quickly turn into long juggles against his large hurtbox.
But R.O.B. can disrupt her recharge rhythm and Missile pacing with Gyro and Robo Beam, and when he blocks Down Tilt, Dash Attack, any smash attack, Forward Air, Up Air, or Side B, Fair (9f), Grab (10f), OOS Uair (10f), and Up Smash (10f) all reach reliably, letting him steal turns back out of defense.
Because of that, it is better not to drag out a straight projectile war. Set Gyro first, force Samus to jump or shield, then layer Fair, Grab, and Uair over her landing or retreat path to push her toward the ledge.
KOs are more reproducible when you hold Gyro to limit Bomb stalls and tether recovery height, then catch ledge getups or the landing point after Up B with Uair, Up Smash, or Dair instead of betting on a center-stage guess.

Win Condition Checklist
- Do not hoard both Gyro and Robo Beam. Before Samus settles into full Charge Shot or repeated Missile setup, fire one first and make her choose jump or shield.
- After blocking Down Tilt, Dash Attack, any smash attack, Forward Air, Up Air, or Side B, immediately choose the Fair (9f), Grab (10f), OOS Uair (10f), or Up Smash (10f) punish that actually reaches and take the turn back.
- After blocking Neutral Air, Down Air, Zair, or a Charge Shot that is not point-blank, do not force an in-place punish. Cover the retreat path or landing with Gyro and Fair instead and turn it into the next landing trap.
- Once Samus is airborne, do not chase directly over her head. Keep shrinking the landing space with Uair and Gyro pickup pressure so Bomb drift changes matter less.
- For kills, keep Gyro in hand at the ledge and cover both standard getup and tether recovery: Uair for ledge jump, Up Smash for the in-place return, and Dair for the low route.
Actions to Avoid
- Holding shield in front of Samus for too long and giving her free time to reach full Charge Shot and tether-grab spacing.
- Pressuring shield with point-blank Down Tilt, shallow Fair, or Side B and letting Samus reset the situation with 4f Up B.
- Spending Robo Burner too early high above the stage and repeatedly eating Forward Air, Up Air, and Charge Shot on the way down.
- Throwing Gyro and then running past it immediately, giving up the item that was supposed to catch jump-outs and Bomb stalls.
- Overchasing offstage and letting Bomb plus Up B reverse the position and erase your own ledge pressure.
