Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)

Robin can solidify the ground with Thunder spells and Arcfire, but jab strings, tilts, dash attack, and similar moves are highly punishable, so Villager can still regain the turn after absorbing the first layer.
Rather than playing a pure projectile war, Villager is stronger when Pocket threatens to steal Thunder spells and tomes, warping Robin’s placement choices and then converting from slingshot and back air the moment Robin hesitates.
For kills, it is more stable to use ledge pressure with tree and bowling ball while limiting jump get-up and high recovery, rather than overcommitting to a center-stage bowling-ball swing.

Win Condition Checklist

  • Do not Pocket every time; only create the distance where Robin wants to fire Thunder and Arcfire too early.
  • After blocking jab strings, tilt strings, or dash attack, answer with grab or back air and take the line before Robin can reset to midrange.
  • When Robin has Levin Sword, avoid a straight brawl and instead destroy the landing spot and the tome pickup position first.

Actions to Avoid

  • Jumping at Arcfire and getting clipped by forward air or up air anti-air pressure.
  • Focusing too much on Pocket and walking into Levin Sword tipper space.
  • Panicking at the ledge and throwing out bowling ball early, only to let him scatter your options.
