Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
Pit is happy to use arrows and air drift to stretch the pace, but Cloud gets paid harder whenever he guesses the height of Pit’s return path and claims that lane first.
This matchup is not really won by endlessly deleting arrows. It is won by stepping into the height where Pit wants to stall, then making Fair tipper or Bair cover the drift back toward stage.
The table shows that Rapid Jab Finisher, Side B (1), Side B (2), Up Smash, and Down Smash all leave clear retaliation for Up B, OOS Nair, Grab, and OOS Uair, which means every blocked commitment can become immediate corner pressure.
The finish is usually cleaner from stage than from a deep chase. Read the jump from ledge or the air dodge back in and close the stock before Pit’s mobility starts another reset.

Win Condition Checklist
- When arrows come out, change height instead of mirroring the projectile lane and move to where Pit wants to land next.
- After blocking Rapid Jab Finisher, Side B (1), Side B (2), Up Smash, or Down Smash, link the punish directly into another ledge sequence.
- Do not swing on the first blocked Back Air; confirm the landing spot or the double-jump spend and punish the route after that.
- While Limit is active, value ledge hold and anti-landing pressure more than arrow trades in place.
Actions to Avoid
- Spending the whole sequence canceling arrows and never reclaiming the ground needed to threaten Pit’s body.
- Throwing out Up B as soon as Back Air touches shield and losing to the empty drift or delayed follow-up.
- Overcommitting offstage and letting Pit’s superior air control win the race back to stage.
- Escaping ledge with panic jump or panic roll and giving Side B pressure a free second turn.
