Win Condition Checklist

  • Place Lloid Trap one step ahead instead of right in Wario’s face, then cover the jump over it with Fair, Bair, and Fishing Rod. Do not let his ground dash and nair route stay open at the same time.
  • After blocking Jab 2, Jab, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Dash Attack, smash attacks, Back Air, Down Air, or Down B, take the guaranteed punish with OOS Nair (8f), OOS Uair (9f), Up Smash (9f), or Grab (10f). Dash Attack and the smash attacks should be major stage-swing spots.
  • Against Down Tilt, Neutral Air, Forward Air, and Up Air, do not insist on an in-place shield punish that rarely reaches. Watch the landing route and retreat instead, then cover the next touchpoint with Fair or Fishing Rod.
  • Even when Waft is online, do not retreat to the corner and wait. Keep nicking Wario with slingshot pressure and Fishing Rod so the long game itself does not tilt in his favor.
  • At the ledge, stay onstage and let Lloid Trap plus Fishing Rod cover bike, double-jump, and post-Up-B landings together. Also deny him easy access back to a dropped bike.

Actions to Avoid

  • Backing all the way off just because Waft is threatening and giving Wario free time to build the exact win condition he wants.
  • Swinging the fastest OOS option after every blocked nair, fair, or down tilt and getting whiff-punished for trying to contest moves that stay too safe.
  • Planting Lloid Trap or throwing out Fishing Rod at point-blank range and letting nair or Bite blow through both ideas at once.
  • Chasing too deep offstage for the KO and letting bike, Up B, or Waft reverse the position.
