Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
Rosalina and Luma want to wall off Luigi’s direct approach paths with two bodies, then keep the fight at midrange where aerials and grab stop him from ever reaching his real damage. Luigi still swings the matchup hard once he gets close enough to hit Luma first, because nair, up tilt, dash attack, and fireball all help create separation, and solo Rosalina is light and much more vulnerable on landing. The core plan is to stop forcing the first big combo onto Rosalina herself, remove or displace Luma first, then use that solo window to land grab or nair starters and cash out into high damage plus up-B kill pressure. If Luigi jumps straight into both hitboxes at once or overcommits offstage and gets his recovery read, his weak mobility and exploitable return path become the real story of the set.

Win Condition Checklist
- Do not rush Rosalina’s body immediately; use nair, up tilt, dash attack, and fireball to touch Luma first and create split time
- During Luma downtime, force maximum reward from grab, nair, and down tilt, then keep chasing until Rosalina spends jump or air dodge
- On shield, do not miss punish windows on jab, rapid-jab finisher, every tilt, dash attack, every smash attack, fair, bair, uair, dair, neutral B, and side B
- Once Rosalina is above you, do not overrespect the upward coverage; keep denying time for Luma to return while tracking up-smash, uair, and up-B kill ranges
- At kill percent, do not lean too hard on raw side B or uncooked up B; finish more reliably through solo-window grab starters, landing up smash, and ledge bair
Actions to Avoid
- Do not force grabs straight through both bodies. The wall of hitboxes stops it too often, and the failed attempt gives away control immediately.
- Do not tunnel on the maximum combo before Luma is separated. With Luma still active, trades and interrupts happen too easily for Luigi to finish his real damage.
- Do not chase too deep offstage and spend recovery tools first. Rosalina and Luma can place hitboxes well in the air, and Luigi’s return path is too fragile to gamble there.
- Do not slow down once Luma is gone. If you let the respawn happen for free, you have to solve the hardest part of the matchup all over again.
