Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
Meta Knight vs Mythra gets rough if you accept repeated grounded scrambles, because Mythra’s speed and sword range make that layer hers more often than not. The matchup improves once Meta Knight plays in the air lanes first, using drift, Nair, Fair, and Up Tilt to touch Mythra before she can fully set her horizontal pressure. Mythra does not instantly kill as often as she wins position, so Meta Knight has to cash in on every launcher with juggle extension, Up B threat, and offstage pressure instead of resetting too quickly. The point is not to outrun Mythra. The point is to make her speed carry her into the vertical and offstage situations where Meta Knight is far more comfortable finishing the stock.

Win Condition Checklist
- Reduce straight grounded dashes and use low jumps plus air stalls to shift around Mythra’s Forward Tilt, Down Tilt, and Dash Attack spacing
- Punish blocked Fair, Bair, Dair, and Side B with Up B or OOS Dair whenever the frame window is there
- After launching Mythra, keep her above you with Uair and Nair coverage until Up B or another juggle finisher becomes real
- Offstage, actively challenge Mythra’s more linear return with Fair and Bair instead of giving free recoveries
Actions to Avoid
- Running directly into repeated grounded speed checks and sword tips
- Spending the first juggle chance on an early hard call and letting Mythra fast-land or air dodge out
- Hesitating to leave the stage with a lead and allowing Mythra to reset into another long neutral phase
