Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
Snake slows neutral down from midrange with Grenade, C4, and Nikita, so Mii Brawler loses quickly if he tries to enter in a straight line with obvious dashes or full hops. Once Brawler runs into the explosive layer first, Snake gets to stack Down Tilt, Up Tilt, and Dash Attack on top of that contact and push the game toward the corner before Brawler can start the close-range fight he wants. Because Brawler lacks true anti-projectile tools and also loses the range battle, rushing into already-established traps is the fastest way to fall behind.
The matchup becomes much better once Snake is forced to actually swing or block at close range. After blocking Jab 2, Jab 3, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Down Tilt, Dash Attack, or any smash attack, Mii Brawler gets clear punishes with Up B (3f), OOS Nair (6f), Up Smash (8f), and OOS Uair (9f). The stable plan is to walk, shield the first explosive or poke, then turn the first grounded punish into close pressure before Snake can reset Grenade or C4 space.
That said, Snake can still break sloppy pressure because Grenade pull starts on frame 1. If Brawler autopilots long strings, trades and resets often favor Snake. Forward Air, Back Air, and Up Air are only punishable by the faster shield options, and Neutral Air is not something Brawler should overforce against either. After getting in once, it is better to track Grenade timing, C4 location, and the landing route for the second touch instead of always swinging again immediately.
For kills, it is more reliable to send Snake to the ledge and cover Cypher rise, ledge getups, landings, and panic C4 routes with Back Air, Up Smash, and Up B than to chase deep offstage. Snake’s recovery distance is long, but his air control and landing freedom are still limited enough that Brawler gets more from holding stage and closing the escape routes one by one.

Win Condition Checklist
- Do not force a straight dash or jump through active Grenade and C4 space. Walk and shield through the first explosive layer, then touch Snake himself.
- After blocking Jab 2, Jab 3, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Down Tilt, Dash Attack, or any smash attack, take the immediate punish with Up B (3f), OOS Nair (6f), Up Smash (8f), or OOS Uair (9f) so Snake cannot rebuild traps.
- Once you get close, watch Grenade pull timing and C4 placement before extending. Break your pressure where needed, then keep the advantage with landing traps and corner pressure instead of a forced overextension.
- At kill percent, stay disciplined at the ledge and cover Cypher rise, ledge getups, landings, and panic C4 movement with Back Air, Up Smash, and Up B rather than gambling on a deep offstage chase.
Actions to Avoid
- Dashing or full-hopping straight into the part of the screen where Grenade and C4 are already active, then eating the grounded follow-up on top of the explosion.
- Blocking Jab 2, Jab 3, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Down Tilt, Dash Attack, or a smash attack but still letting Snake reset Grenade and C4 space for free.
- Extending close-range strings on autopilot and handing Snake a favorable reset when frame-1 Grenade pull turns the exchange into a trade.
- Chasing too deep offstage for the stock and drifting into Cypher, Nikita, or panic C4 routes while giving up stage control.
