Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
This matchup gets awkward if Mythra runs straight into Pikmin Toss and the long disjointed line, because Olimar’s small body makes whiffs easy and white or purple pressure can stack quickly, but Mythra can use the speed gap to reach Olimar before the formation fully resets.
Olimar is not sturdy up close and becomes especially thin once Pikmin are detached or his count is low, so Mythra should value positioning that moves both Olimar and the line at once instead of just swinging repeatedly at the body.
The table shows that Jab 1, forward tilt, up tilt, down tilt, dash attack, and neutral air are all punishable by Up Smash (9f), Grab (10f), or Up B (10f), which means Olimar’s close defensive attempts can be turned back into Mythra’s advantage. By contrast, Jab 2 and purple Side B do not give a real immediate punish, and with several smash values still unknown on shield, forcing a button after every block is the wrong trade.
The win condition is to keep advantage running once you touch him: landing traps, ledge pressure, and denied Pikmin plucks matter more than deep edgeguards. Olimar is light enough that up smash, uair, and repeated ledge pressure close stocks without exposing Mythra’s weaker recovery.

Win Condition Checklist
- Do not dash straight through the Pikmin Toss lane. Stop at sword tip range and force either Olimar’s body or the Pikmin line to move first.
- After blocking Jab 1, forward tilt, up tilt, down tilt, dash attack, or neutral air, punish with Up Smash (9f), Grab (10f), or Up B (10f) and keep chasing the landing instead of resetting to center.
- When Pikmin are detached or the count is low, stay close and remove the time Olimar needs to pluck and reorder.
- For kills, stay disciplined and take up smash, uair, and ledge coverage rather than adding oversized swings.
- When white and purple pressure is active, prioritize breaking the formation before overcommitting to direct body chases.
Actions to Avoid
- Whiffing short swings over and over on Olimar’s small body and letting Pikmin Toss plus long pokes chip the game away.
- Trying to punish after Jab 2 or purple Side B every time and giving Olimar free fadeback escapes when nothing is guaranteed.
- Backing off after finally breaking the line and handing Olimar a free pluck and reset.
- Chasing too deep offstage for the stock and turning Mythra’s weaker recovery into the real risk of the exchange.
