Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
Simon has to stop Mii Brawler before the close-range game starts. Cross, Axe, Holy Water, Fair, and Bair should be used to block the route in and keep pushing the fight toward ledge.
Mii Brawler’s Jab, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Down Tilt, and Dash Attack are all punishable on shield by Up B (6f), with Grab (10f) and OOS Nair (11f) also covering many of those grounded entries.
Once Brawler gets inside, Simon’s scramble game gets much worse, and the special-move loadout can change the exact kill and recovery routes, so holding position advantage matters more than forcing a raw swing in center stage.
The stable win condition is to deny the first entry, reset space after every hit, and make Brawler guess through Holy Water and whip coverage at the ledge.

Win Condition Checklist
- Simon should vary Cross, Axe, Holy Water, and his own spacing so Mii Brawler never gets a clean straight-line dash into point-blank range.
- After Simon blocks Mii Brawler’s Jab, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Down Tilt, or Dash Attack, use Up B (6f) first when possible, then Grab (10f) or OOS Nair (11f) if they are the cleaner answer.
- After landing a hit, Simon should rebuild distance and send the fight back toward ledge instead of accepting an immediate scramble.
- At ledge, Simon should not hard-commit to one recovery read against Mii Brawler’s loadout and should instead let Holy Water and whip coverage catch jump, drift, or the committed up special route.
Actions to Avoid
- Throwing out slow whip smashes in center stage and giving Mii Brawler a free route inside.
- Blocking Mii Brawler’s grounded burst options and still declining the Up B (6f) or Grab (10f) punish window.
- Staying in place after winning one exchange and turning the next beat into a brawl at point-blank range.
- Chasing too deep offstage with Simon and exposing Simon’s own weak recovery for little reward.
