Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)

Robin wants to freeze Dark Pit’s routes with Thunder charge and Arcfire, but the movement gap and the recovery windows on Robin’s heavier buttons let Dark Pit create reliable whiff punishes once arrows start forcing those choices early. The main plan is to use arrows to hurry up jumps and tome usage, then hit the forced stop with nair, fair, or grab and roll straight into landing traps and ledge carry. Jab strings, tilts, dash attack, smash attacks, dair, and neutral B all leave major shield punish windows, so Dark Pit gets more from punishing committed sword swings than from blindly trying to break every projectile setup. Stocks also come more cleanly through ledge arrows and bair traps than through center-stage hard reads, especially during the stretches where Levin Sword or tomes are running low.

Win Condition Checklist

  • Use arrows to hurry Robin’s Thunder and Arcfire timing, then punish the forced pause with nair or grab
  • After shielding jab 1-3, rapid jab finisher, tilts, dash attack, smash attacks, dair, or neutral B, take the guaranteed up smash or nair punish
  • When Levin Sword is active, avoid direct center-stage trades and force movement first with air drift and arrows
  • Once Robin is airborne, keep the advantage going with fair and bair on landings and ledge routes instead of rushing the kill
  • Push hardest when tomes or Levin Sword are gone so the stage lead turns into repeated close-range access

Actions to Avoid

  • Panicking at Thunder and Arcfire and flying straight into Levin Sword anti-airs
  • Letting the punishable heavy buttons go unchecked and giving Robin another full reset on resources
  • Taking center-stage slugfests while Levin Sword is active and losing the single-hit trade war
  • Chasing too deep offstage and opening yourself to Thunder or bair reversals
  • Using arrows only for chip damage instead of for the jump and timing control they are strongest at
