Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)

Mega Man uses pellets, Metal Blade, Crash Bomber, and Leaf Shield to interrupt the mid-range path in small layers, so if Lucina keeps trying to clear the wall with distant full hops, she runs into bair, up tilt, and up smash before she ever stabilizes sword range.
Lucina still has the tools to win because her walk speed, shield discipline, and consistent sword-tip spacing let her work through each projectile layer one at a time, and once she gets close Mega Man’s defensive answers become much more uncomfortable.
As the table shows, jab, forward tilt, up tilt, down tilt, dash attack, all smashes, nair, bair, and neutral special all give Lucina meaningful shield punishes, and even fair can be answered by a tight Up B when it lands too close.
The stable win condition is to escort Mega Man to the ledge, trap the landing or air dodge after Rush Coil from onstage, and finish the stock before another full projectile wall gets rebuilt.

Win Condition Checklist

  • Do not try to erase pellets, Metal Blade, and Crash Bomber all at once; walk and shield through them one layer at a time while forcing Mega Man toward the ledge.
  • After blocking jab, forward tilt, up tilt, down tilt, dash attack, smashes, nair, bair, or neutral special, take the shortest guaranteed punish first, including Up B whenever it is available.
  • Only answer fair with close-range Up B, and do not mash back into down air or Leaf Shield pressure; keep stage control while tracking the landing and the Crash Bomber timer.
  • At the ledge, cover the jump, air dodge, and onstage landing after Rush Coil first, then convert into forward smash, bair, or uair without overcommitting offstage.

Actions to Avoid

  • Panicking at long range with repeated full hops and running Lucina into Mega Man’s bair, up tilt, and up smash anti-airs.
  • Swinging at every pellet or Metal Blade and giving Mega Man free time to attach Crash Bomber or set up Leaf Shield.
  • Forcing shield punishes on every blocked fair or down air and getting your position reversed by landing drift or post-shield scrambles.
  • Chasing too deep offstage, losing track of the Rush Coil landing, and giving up both center stage and the ledge trap.
