Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)
Mii Swordfighter can shift between projectile-heavy waiting and burst entries depending on the chosen specials, so Marth loses control quickly if he keeps advancing at one fixed rhythm.
The stable plan is to confirm the recovery route and side-special behavior early, then hold tipper range with walking, down tilt, forward air, and up air so the landing and ledge lanes are claimed first.
The table shows that Jab 1, Jab 2, Jab 3, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Dash Attack, Forward Smash, Up Smash, Down Smash, and Up B (1) through Up B (3) all leave openings for Marth’s Up B (5f), OOS Uair (8f), OOS Nair (9f), or OOS Fair (9f), so blunt grounded pressure should be punished immediately.
By contrast, Down Tilt, Neutral Air, Back Air, and Up Air are poor places to swing back right away, so the punish should often come from the landing, drift-out, or ledge route instead of an instant challenge.

Win Condition Checklist
- Use the first few exchanges to confirm the up-special return path and the side-special behavior, and keep center with walking, down tilt, and forward air until the loadout is clear.
- After blocking Jab 1, Jab 2, Jab 3, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Dash Attack, Up B (1), Up B (2), or Up B (3), immediately choose the Marth punish that reaches: Up B (5f), OOS Uair (8f), OOS Nair (9f), or OOS Fair (9f).
- Do not mash back into Down Tilt, Neutral Air, Back Air, or Up Air. Take the landing, air-dodge exit, or ledge drift first, then push back out with tipper Fair, Bair, or Forward Tilt.
- Finish stocks mostly from onstage ledge pressure and shield punishes rather than deep chases, so Marth keeps his own weaker horizontal recovery out of danger.
Actions to Avoid
- Dashing or short-hopping in repeatedly before the special loadout is understood and letting both the projectile layer and the burst layer hit for free.
- Blocking Jab 1, Jab 2, Jab 3, Forward Tilt, Up Tilt, Dash Attack, Up B (1), Up B (2), or Up B (3) and still failing to take the guaranteed punish window.
- Staying at close range after Down Tilt, Neutral Air, Back Air, or Up Air and giving Mii Swordfighter the scramble it wants.
- Chasing too deep offstage and turning Marth’s shorter horizontal recovery into the real liability of the interaction.
