Matchup Summary (Win Condition and Game Plan)

This matchup gets messy for Mega Man if he keeps letting Poison Breath and Ptooie dictate the front and upper lanes, because Plant’s heavy anti-airs and smash hits become much easier to line up afterward.
The win condition is not just to shoot more, but to use Mega Buster, Metal Blade, and Crash Bomber to interrupt the setup first, then punish the jump or landing with bair, Up Tilt, and Up Smash.

  • Walking directly into the front lane of Poison Breath and the upper lane of Ptooie.
  • Trying to shield-punish every setup action even when the frame data does not make it real.
  • Firing projectiles without also contesting the space Plant wants to stand in next.
  • Fishing with raw kill moves in center and giving Plant an easy heavy punish.
